The company invested in new markets, global production, innovative measuring devices and systems, complete solutions and services, and in e-business.
Klaus Endress is both leader and a team player. He also involves his siblings in decision-making processes. This applies to both his two brothers who are active within the company - Hans-Peter runs the company's various activities in United Kingdom while Urs is head of the sales center in France - and to the other five who also carry responsibility as co-owners. He works closely with the newly formed Supervisory Board, headed by Klaus Riemenschneider, a close associate of his father for many years.
KE wants to be convincing; he looks for the best approach in dialog, and, if possible, takes everyone into account. He does not need to be in the public eye. He partially inherited his closest management team, the Executive Board comprising Fernando Fuenzalida (Controlling), Dieter Schaudel (Technology, IT) and Michael Ziesemer (Sales and Marketing) from his father and he partially selected them himself.
Despite very tough competition, despite globalization and the fast pace of innovation, Endress+Hauser has continued to grow, no longer in two-digit figures as during the best pioneer years, but still faster than the major competitors. The signs continue to indicate the path of controlled expansion and this will be implemented by new concepts in the company strategy. "I'm not changing my mind, says Klaus Endress, convinced, "we should be and want to be 'Simply the Best'.
